November, 2012

In October, 2012, members of Women's Voices voted to oppose Amendment 3, which appeared on the November ballot in Missouri.

Constitutional Amendment 3 would have changed the way appellate court judges are selected and would have given more power to the governor to select judges. If approved, this amendment would have had the potential to politicize the judicial selection process.

Voters strongly rejected Amendment 3 at the polls, and the Missouri non-partisan court plan continues to serve as a model for a number of other states.
